Congratulations to the winners of the 2013 "Nature in Kingston Chase" Photo Contest. The winning photos and runners up in each category will be displayed in the clubhouse at this year's Earth Day celebration.

Third Annual Earth Day in Kingston Chase!



Come and be a part of the KC Conservation CORPS’
Annual Earth Day Celebration
THIS Saturday, April 26th
9:30 am until noon
at the KC Butterfly Garden (behind the pool)
There’ll be something for everyone, including:
-        Plant/seed swap and giveaway (details below)
-        NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY PRESENTATION AND SCAVENGER HUNT – 11am. Bring your camera or phone and learn the basics of getting a good shot, then join us on a led scavenger hunt to practice your skills! All ages welcome!
-        Resource Expo - Composting, Using Rain Barrels, Tick and Mosquito Protection, Organic Gardening, Kids Activities, and more!
-        Winners of our 2013 Nature Photo Contest on Display
-        Snacks for Dogs – and their Humans!
-        Door Prizes! Including Gift Subscriptions to Organic Gardening magazine!
-        Would you like to help dig out flowers from the KC Butterfly Garden for the plant giveaway? Students earn service hours! For more information, reply to this email or call Jane Hampson at 703-481-7903.

Plant/Seed Exchange: Bring any plants or seeds that you want to share to the garden by 9:30. Come by anytime to see what is available from the Butterfly Garden (Bee Balm, Bronze Fennel, Anise Hyssop, Joe Pye Weed, etc) and from your neighbors (we already know people are offering Yarrow, Coneflower, Bleeding Heart, Liriope and Rose bushes), plus lots of organic vegetable seeds!
